Various versions of the English language exist. Begin by identifying the category you fall into and start by improving the clarity of your speech.

~ Focus on removing the mother tongue influence that creep into your English conversations.

~ Watch the English news on television channels like Star World, CNN, BBC and English movies on Star Movies and HBO.

~ Listen to and sing English songs

Thanks for the quick tips. I recommend to my students that they gain as much practice as possible with using English. Exposure to the language through various channels is ideal. Listen to English broadcasts, such as those on NPR and the BBC, watch some speakers of English at http://www.ted.com while learning about interesting topics, or listen to spoken English while reading the words at http://www.breakingnewsenglish.com/podcast.html. These are all fun ways to gain more experience with the language!
I love being an Online English Tutor! It is always fun and interesting.

The 3 golden rules to language - read it, speak it, listen to it. so read at least a book a week. it can be a romance or even Archie comics, but read! Don’t be afraid to speak English. If u makes a mistake, someone will correct you. And you will learn. Watch a lot of English movies and TV programmes. it will help you get used to the different accents, and also help you learn contemporary lingo.
